Legge and Freeman named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Sept. 22-28, 2025
Men's football running back Liam Legge and women's soccer forward Cara Freeman have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending September 28, 2025.

Liam Legge, a second year running back from Stewiacke, N.S., is the Huskies male athlete of the week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week of Sept. 21-28, 2025.
In Saturday's 30-8 win over the Acadia Axemen, Legge took 19 rushing attempts for 147 yards, averaging 7.7 yards per carry.
Through five games played this season, Legge has recorded 233 rushing yards on 31 carries. He leads the AUS with an average of 7.5 yards per carry, and ranks third in rushing yards.
With the win, the Huskies improve to 4-1 on the season. They'll next take on the Mount Allison Mounties (0-5) on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at Huskies Stadium, as part of Huskies Homecoming weekend. GET TICKETS

Cara Freeman, a third year forward from Halifax, NS, is the Huskies female athlete of the week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week of Sept. 21-28, 2025.
Over a pair of Huskies wins this weekend, Freeman scored three goals and added two assists, and is now tied for first in U SPORTS in goals, and leads the AUS in goals and points.
In Friday's 2-0 win over the UPEI Panthers, Freeman scored a goal and added an assist, recording a match-high four shots on goal and playing the full 90 minutes.
In Saturday's 6-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties, Freeman scored two goals and added an assist, once again playing the full 90 minutes.
For the season, Freeman has now scored 10 goals and added four assists for 14 points in nine games played. She is tied for the U SPORTS lead in goals scored, and leads the AUS in goals scored and total points.
The back-to-back road wins improve the Huskies record to 4-3-2 on the season, currently ranking sixth in the AUS. They'll be back in action next weekend, visiting the UNB REDS (5-1-3) on Friday, Oct. 3 at 5 p.m. in Fredericton, N.B., before returning home to host the Moncton Aigles Bleues (2-6-1) on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 1 p.m. as part of Huskies Homecoming Weekend.
