SACKVILLE, NB - Saint Mary's goaltender Sophie Scully turned away 27 shots, as the Huskies shut-out the Mount Allison Mounties 5-0 in Atlantic University Sport women's hockey action on Friday night in Sackville, N.B.

The Huskies opened the scoring just over a minute into action, as Keyara Nelson dropped a pass off for Avery Cant, who scored her AUS leading seventh goal to give the Huskies an early 1-0 lead.

Midway through the period, Saint Mary's added to the lead courtesy a powerplay goal from captain Ashley Penney.

Less than two minutes later, defender Abigail MacKenzie made it 3-0 Huskies.

The first period scoring explosion continued with Kara MacLean sniping a nice goal to extend the lead to 4-0.

Neither team scored in the second period, but Gillian Lapierre scored with under five minutes remaining in the third period to secure the 5-0 final score.

Sophie Scully stopped all 27 shots faced for the shutout, while Mounties netminder Silia Gregg made 24 saves in defeat.

With the win the Huskies improve to 5-4-0-1 on the season. They'll look for their third straight road win tonight, as they visit the STFX X-Women (7-3-0-0) at 7 p.m. in Antigonish, N.S.
