HALIFAX, NS - Saint Mary's goaltender Ridleigh Hansen turned away 26 shots, lifting the Huskies to a 2-0 shutout win over the Dalhousie Tigers on Saturday night at the Dauphinee Centre.
Facing off against their crosstown rivals for the second straight night, Saturday's game had a different feel than Friday's 6-5 barnburner, with neither team scoring until midway through the second period.
Saint Mary's outshot Dalhousie 13-6 through the opening frame, but Tigers netminder Grace Beer and Huskies counterpart Ridleigh Hansen (Red Deer, AB) turned away all shots faced.
The Huskies finally beat Beer on their 19th shot on goal, as on a powerplay opportunity, defender Abigail MacKenzie (Stellarton, NS) fired a shot on goal, and forward Keyara Nelson (Belleville, ON) deflected it past Beer to give the hosts a 1-0 lead, 9:55 into the second period.

With less than three minutes remaining in regulation, the Huskies doubled their lead, with forward Gillian Lapierre (Port Coquitlam, BC) fired a shot that was stopped by Beer, but the rebound bounced around in front and was knocked in by forward Jillian Duggan (Halifax, NS), securing the Huskies 2-0 win.
