MacDonald and Golding named Huskies Athletes of the Week: Nov. 4-10, 2024

Men's football defensive lineman Liam MacDonald and Women's volleyball outside hitter Breanna Golding have been named Huskies Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Freeman's Little New York Halifax, for the week ending November 10th, 2024.

Liam MacDonald, a third year defensive lineman from Winnipeg, MB, is the Huskies male athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 4-10, 2024.

MacDonald was a game-changer in the Huskies 25-22 triple overtime loss to the Bishop's Gaiters in Saturday's Loney Bowl. MacDonald recorded 6.5 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks, 2.5 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles, both of which were recovered by the Huskies.

Breanna Golding / Women's Volleyball / Pickering, ON / 3rd year / Entrepreneurship

Breanna Golding, a third year outside hitter from Pickering, ON, is the Huskies female athlete of the week for the week of Nov. 4-10, 2024.

Golding led the Huskies attack in a pair of wins over the Moncton Aigles Bleues, averaging 18.5 points, 14.5 kills, 3.5 service aces and 11 digs across a pair of matches.

In Friday's 3-1 win over the Aigles Bleues, Golding led the Huskies with an astouding 20 kills, adding four service aces, 15 digs and a block.

In Sunday's straight sets win over the Aigles Bleues, Golding once again led the Huskies with nine kills, adding three service aces and seven digs.

Through six matches, Golding is among the AUS leaders in points per set (3.7 - 3rd), kills per set (3.1 - 3rd), service aces per set (0.4 - 5th), total kills (62 - 6th), digs per set (3.5 - 7th), points (74.0 - 8th) and service aces (8 - 8th).
