Huskies women’s hockey announce commitment of forward Mia Faseruk
Saint Mary's Huskies women's hockey head coach Chris Larade is pleased to announce the commitment of forward Mia Faseruk for the 2024-25 season.
A 5'10 forward from West St. Paul, Manitoba, Faseruk captained the St. Mary's Academy Prep hockey team in the CSSHL U18 league. Faseruk was chosen as a CSSHL First Team All-Star this past season, recording 36 points (22 goals, 14 assists) in 28 games played. Over three seasons with St. Mary's Academy, Faseruk amassed 71 points (40 goals, 31 assists) in 80 games, and was a CSSHL Freshman of the Year nominee in the 2021-22 season.
Faseruk also represented her home province of Manitoba on several occasions, including at the 2023 Hockey Canada Women's U18 National Championship.
"Mia is coming to us having served as captain for her St. Mary's Academy prep team, just like her former and now current again teammate Charlotte Buffie," says Huskies head coach Chris Larade. "Mia is a highly effective two-way forward that can be strong on pucks and has a nose for the net. Her consistency and leadership will no doubt translate well to the next level."
"I am super excited to join the Saint Mary's Huskies for the 2024-25 season," says Faseruk. "I am looking forward to furthering my education at a great university and striving to be the best I could be, both on and off the ice."
An honour roll student, Faseruk will be studying a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Saint Mary's.
