MacMullin breaks school record, Pegg sets personal best on day two of U SPORTS Track & Field Nationals
WINDSOR, ON - The Saint Mary's Huskies continued their strong performances on day two of the U SPORTS Track & Field Championship, highlighted by sprinter Andy MacMullin breaking a school record and finishing seventh in the country in the 300m, and thrower Katie Pegg setting a personal best and winning gold in the F46 Para Shotput.
Andy MacMullin – 300m
A third-year sprinter from Boisdale, N.S., Andy MacMullin competed in the 300m, where he finished seventh in the country, running a time of 34.89.

Earlier in the day, Andy ran a 34.81 to qualify for the final, breaking a personal best and his own school record for the third time this season.

Andy will also be competing in the 4x200m final on Saturday at 3:15 p.m., after he anchored the Huskies to an eighth place finish of 1:30.33 in Thursday night's qualifying heat.
Katie Pegg – Shot Put
A second-year science major from Scarborough, ON, Katie Pegg won a gold medal in the F46 Para Shotput, with a personal best of 11.57m.

This was Pegg's second straight year competing at Nationals, and she continues to set personal bests. Despite being relatively new to the sport, Katie made history last year when she qualified to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games, where she finished seventh in the world. Dante Isadore – Long Jump
A fourth-year criminology major from Wagmatcook, N.S., Dante Isadore competed in the long jump on Friday, finishing 14th in the country with a leap of 6.50 metres.
Isadore previously competed at the 2023 U SPORTS Nationals in Saskatoon, SK, where he finished 11th in the country.
The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday, with competitors in three events.
SATURDAY PREVIEW
At 1:35 p.m. AST, Mason Dunlop will be competing in the men's shotput. Dunlop won the shotput at the AUS Championship with a school-record and personal best throw of 15.95m, which ranks seventh in the country, and was named AUS Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
At 3:15 p.m. AST, the men's 4x200 metre team of Chad Smith, Chandler Zinck-Marier, Innis MacMullin and Andy MacMullin, will compete in the final, after finishing eighth in Thursday night's qualifying heat with a time of 1:30.33. This group won gold at the AUS Championships, breaking a school and AUS record with a time of 1:29.77.

At 3:35 p.m. AST, Ciaran MacDonald will compete in the men's triple jump. MacDonald won the men's triple jump at the AUS Championship, beating the second-place finisher by one centimeter in a jump of 12.80m on his final attempt.
