MacMullin, Schaus break school records at SMU Open
The Huskies competed in their final regular season meet this past Saturday, Feb. 8, before the Atlantic University Sport championships, in Halifax hosting the Saint Mary's Open. The Huskies continued to see strong performances and upward trends in performances as they head into championship season.
A number of Huskies earned personal bests at the competition including Ciaran MacDonald in the triple jump (12.61m), Eric Wall in the 60m hurdles (9.92), Tayah Remington in the 60m (8.20), Mackenzie Hayduk in the 1500m (5:05), Ethan Delphin in the 300m (36.50), Keegan Hall in the 600m (1:25), Brady Kyle in the 1500m (4:11), Cole Miller in the 1500m (4:16), and Matthew Mundy in the 1500m (4:24).
The star performances of the meet were the men's 4x200m winning in a time of 1:31.34, Dante Isadore winning the men's long jump with a distance of 6.97m, Kayla Schaus with a new personal best and breaking the women's high jump school record in a height of 1.55m, and Andy MacMullin winning the 300m in a new personal best, breaking his previous school record, running 34.93.
The Huskies return to action at the Atlantic University Sport championships being hosted by UNB in Saint John, New Brunswick on February 21st and 22nd.
