Allison, Valade finish 2025-26 regular season as leading scorers in U SPORTS

Saint Mary's Huskies men's hockey forwards Ben Allison and Reid Valade have finished the 2025-26 regular season as the leading scorers in all of U SPORTS Men's Hockey.

Ben Allison leads country in points

Ben Allison, a fourth year forward out of Halifax, N.S., led the nation in scoring with 50 points (23 goals and 27 assists) in 30 games played.

Allison is the second straight Husky to lead the nation in points, following teammate Derek Gentile, who scored 47 points (19 goals and 27 assists) in 29 games played in the 2024-25 season. 

Allison's 50-point season is the seventh highest scoring total in program history, with the last Huskies 50+ point season coming from Saint Mary's Hall of Famers Marc Rancourt, who scored 57 points in 2008-09. Over three seasons with the Huskies, Allison has crossed the 100-point plateau, recording 102 points (44 goals, 58 assists) in 87 regular season games.

Reid Valade leads country in goals

Reid Valade, a fourth year forward out of Caledon, ON, led the nation in goals, scoring 27 goals in 30 games played. Valade added 21 assists for a total of 48 points, finishing second in the country behind his linemate Ben Allison.

Valade becomes the second Huskies men's hockey player to lead the country in goals, joining Steve Kluczkowski, who scored 33 goals in 1992-93. His 27 goals is tied for third all-time in program history, and is the second highest goal scoring season in the past 30 years of AUS hockey, trailing only Moncton forward Jean-Francois Plante, who scored 28 goals in the 2016-17 season.

Over three seasons with the Huskies, Valade has recorded 92 points (45 goals and 47 assists) in 87 regular season games.

Allison, Valade and the Huskies finished the regular season with a 16-10-1-3 record, good for fourth place in the AUS standings. They'll now head into a playoff matchup against the #5 seed UPEI Panthers (17-13-0-0), with game one being played at the Dauphinee Centre on Wednesday, Feb. 18. GET TICKETS
