Saint Mary’s University moves forward with refreshed brand story
The Department of Athletics and Recreation at Saint Mary's University is proud to share with the SMU Huskies community some big news coming as a result of the university's brand announcement.
Saint Mary's University has unveiled a refreshed brand that respects the great traditions and values of the university while reflecting the modern vibrancy of today—a brand that reaches ambitiously toward a strong future. Saint Mary's is, and always will be, 'maroon and white' but is embracing new a presentation across the university, and the first thing SMU Huskies fans will notice is the updated husky.
"Our department shares the excitement being experienced across campus for the new brand, especially the new husky," says Director of Athletics and Recreation Scott Gray. "We see this modern fierce husky as a natural evolution for us. The determination we see in this husky reflects the competitiveness and fierceness of our varsity athletes and teams in the gym, on the field and on the ice."
"After a challenging year for everyone, this refresh is something to be excited about," adds Gray. "This upcoming school year and season is a time of renewal for all of us, and we look forward to incorporating this logo into our activities this season and beyond."
