Huskies down Seahawks 64-45

(Halifax, NS) In AUS women's basketball action, the Saint Mary's Huskies topped the Memorial Seahawks 64-45 to split their weekend series.

 

The Huskies came out strong in the first quarter and lead 22-16 and never looked back. 

 

Saint Mary's had three players in double digits for the win.  Subway player of the game Jada Yeo (Halifax, NS) lead SMU with 17 points and 7 rebounds.  Third year forward, Kendra McKinnon (Pictou, NS) was 5-12 on the three-point line and added 15 points.  First year guard Arianna Macais (Tampa, Florida) rounded out the scoring with 13 points.

 

For Memorial, 5th year guard Sydney Ezekiel (St. John's, NL) lead team scoring with 15 points.  Sydney Stewart (London, ON) added 12 points on the day.

 

Today's game marked the last regular season game for two Huskies' seniors, Belinda Ndaye (Toronto, ON) and Josie Gascoigne (Dartmouth, NS)

 

Up next, the Seahawks host Dalhousie next weekend for two and Saint Mary's travel to Fredericton to take the Reds.
