Saint Mary's University is pleased to announce the commitment of Taylor Kurs to join the women's basketball program for the 2017-18 season.
Kurs a 5'7 point guard from Rego Park, New York joins the Huskies from internationally recognized basketball powerhouse Archbishop Molloy where she was a 4 year varsity guard. Kurs was part of a two time Brooklyn-Queens finalist team. She was also the point guard for Molloy's state finalist team which achieved a 6th place national ranking by USA today.
"I had the opportunity to watch Taylor play this year and was immediately impressed with her ability at the point guard position. She is a very intelligent guard and a tough competitor who loves to make her teammates better. She has competed at a high level throughout her AAU years as a member of the Queens Express as well during her high school career with Archbishop Molloy. We are excited to have her join our program," said Head Coach Scott Munro.
"After visiting Saint Mary's University I just fell in love with the city of Halifax and Saint Mary's. I think it will be a great life experience and I can't wait to further my education and athletic career at SMU," said Kurs.
