Brooke Murphy, Hockey and Andrew Peverill, Track & Field, headline the Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 24th.
Fourth year Criminology student, Brooke Murphy added five points for the Huskies in two games. In Wednesday's 6-1 win over Dalhousie she had a goal and an assist, and in Sunday's 6-3 win over visiting StFX, she added another goal two assists. Murphy currently leads the conference in points with 18 points. Three other teammates - Miranda Hatt, Siobhan Birch, Shae Demale complete the top three spots. The Huksies currently sit in first place with a 14-2 record, with two more games vs MTA and STU in the first semester.
In the first track & field meet of the season, third year student-athlete Andrew Peverill, finished first in the 3000m at the Athletics NS Last Chance Meet hosted at the Canada Games Centre. Peverill topped the pack with a time of 8.29.22 which is good enough to put him in the top 12 U Sports rankings due this week. Peverill captured the men's 8K in the AUS Cross Country championships last month.
