Athletes of the Week, presented by Freemans

Jasmine Cain and Andrew Peverill pick up the Athlete of the Week honors presented by Freemans.

Cain, a 2nd year guard from Halifax, litterally shot the lights out at the Homburg Centre Saturday night.  She had 30 points (8 for 10 in 3 pointers), in the Huskies 90-43 lopsided win over the visiting Tigers.  jasmine is 7th in AUS scoring and first in team scoring with a 14.4 ppg average.  The Huskies travel to the Island for a pair of games vs the UPEI Panthers Friday and Saturday.

First year runner, Andrew Peverill from Lower Sackville, NS set a personal best in the men's 3000 m to caputre first in a recent meet at the Canada Games Centre.  This is a new Saint Mary's record and ranks him #1 in the U Sport 3000 m rankings.  The Huskies continue track action this weekend when they travel to UdeM for the Moncton Open.  The top performance gave Saint Mary's an honorable mention in the U Sports Weekly Top Ten released yesterday.
