Men's Hockey claim Freeman's Athletes of the Week

Eric Brassard and Calder Brooks earn the Freeman Athletes of the week honors for the week ending December 3rd.  

The only team in competition last week, the Huskies finished the first semester with home wins over the UNB Varsity Reds and the UPEI Panthers.  

In Friday's exciting 5-4 overtime SO win over UNB, Brassard had 35 saves, 11 in the third to force OT.   Eight big saves in the in the OT period forced a nine-round shootout where he stopped 8 of 9.  Hunter Garlent and Bronson Beaton scored for the Huskies to pick up the win.  Brassard earned Subway Player of the Game honors. 

Third year forward Calder Brooks had a 4-point weekend for the Huskies.  He added an assist on Friday and Saturday had 2 goals and an assistant in the Huskies 5-4 come from behind win over the visiting Panthers.  Brooks is currently third in team scoring with 19 points. 

The Huskies are back at home on January 6th when they host the Acadia Axemen.
